Why does this recipe work?
- You only need 3 ingredients and under 10 minutes.
- Grilling makes peaches smoky and super tasty.
- Great as breakfast with Greek yogurt and granola on top. And for dessert serve with vanilla or mascarpone cheese, tuck in sandwich along with brie, toss it in salad.
- Stone fruits are one of the best things to grill. When peaches are available in plenty you definitely want to put them to good use. I believe this is the world’s most favorite way to eat peaches. And it can be served in million ways, from salads, to breakfast to desserts, why wouldn’t you grill your favorite stone fruit, right!
Ingredients
All you need for this recipe is PEACHES. Grill it plain on BBQ without any add ons or…
To add more flavor and enhance the caramelization, brush peaches with oil and brown sugar glaze. This makes peaches turn rich, decadent and perfectly caramelized.
How To Grill Peaches?
- Select the best peaches. Heat up your BBQ.
- To prep the peaches – Cut peaches along the seam all the way around using sharp knife. Using both hands twist and open the peach into 2. Using a melon baller or scooper remove the pit that will be sticking to one half of the peach.
- Whisk together canola oil and brown sugar.
- Coat every peach half in brown sugar mix evenly on the cut side.
- On medium heat, grill each halves with cut side down. Brush extra oil in between. Once peaches begin to get beautiful caramelized marks, about 5 minutes (depending on the temperature of your BBQ) brush the top with oil and turn it over and move it to the low heat side of the BBQ. Cook until peaches are tender but not falling apart. Note – if you wish, sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on grilled side once flipped.
- Remove it from heat. Serve with your favorite toppings!
Servings Suggestions –
- Desserts – with vanilla ice cream scoop on top, mascarpone cheese or ice cream, frozen yogurt for light version.
- Breakfast with Greek yogurt and granola.
- As salad.
- For appetizer – wrap it in bacon and cook on BBQ for a minute or two and serve.
Selecting Right Peaches To Grill
Not all the peaches can be put on the BBQ. Too ripe ones aren’t sturdy enough and won’t stand it’s shape when you grill it. When your selecting peaches to BBQ, make sure you pick the ones that are just about ripe but firm.
Sturdy and ripe fruit allow them to hold it’s shape when you grill. Peach that are available for mid-June to mid-August are usually free-stone that has it pit fall easily, which are the best peaches for grilling.
How Long To Grill ?
It takes minutes to grill peaches to perfection. Grill it until it gets beautiful grill marks on the cut side, flip and cook it on other side over low heat until tender, but are not falling apart.
It takes around 8-10 minutes total to for peaches to be perfect. Please note, the time will vary depending on the temperature of your BBQ.
