Watermelon pizza is thick melon slice that is slathered with cheesecake frosting and topped with fresh fruits, sliced and served as dessert pizza. Watermelon pizza is the ultimate summer dessert that comes together in a jiffy!

Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 seedless ripe watermelon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened at room temperature
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 oz cool whip
Any fruits of your choice for topping-
I used:
- ¼ cup kiwi, chopped
- ¼ cup plums, chopped
- ¼ cup blueberries
- ¼ cup strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup mango, chopped
Ingredients additions & Substitutions
- You can substitute cheesecake frosting ingredients (cream cheese + powdered sugar+ vanilla+cool whip) with Greek yogurt to make it more healthy.
- For extra load of freshness and taste add 2 tablespoon of orange juice instead of cool whip.
- Feel free to add any fruit of your choice for watermelon pizza toppings. Some of the best fruits to add to watermelon pizza recipe are:
- Peaches
- Blueberries
- Cherries
- Raspberries
- Strawberries
- Kiwi
- Dragon fruit
- Blackberries
- Pomegranate
Other toppings to be added other than fruits:
- Add fresh herbs like mint leaves.

How to make watermelon pizza
Seedless fully ripe watermelon is best for watermelon pizza recipe. Use sharp knife to cut watermelon.
- To make cheesecake frosting beat softened cream cheese until it turns light and fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract to beaten cream cheese. Continue to beat until the mix is smooth.
- Fold in cool whip to the cream cheese mix. Don’t over mix. Gently fold until blends together.
- Keep cheesecakes frosting aside until use.
Cut melon into thick slices. If there are any seeds in the melon, pick the seeds and discard it.
- Place watermelon slice on a serving platter.
- Slather with sweet cheesecake frosting on top. Spread the frosting evenly over the melon leaving ¼ inch gap on the edges.
- Add any fresh fruit of your choice for the topping. We added chopped kiwi, chopped plums, blueberries, sliced strawberries, chopped mango on top.
- Cut into pie shape sections and serve immediately.
FAQS
To make it vegan-friendly use vegan yogurt like coconut yogurt instead of cream cheese cheesecake frosting.
Swap cream cheese and cool whip with coconut yogurt. Beat coconut yogurt with powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Slather coconut yogurt mix on melon slice, top with fruits and enjoy.
No I don’t recommend you to make watermelon pizza in advance. Melon once cut will breakdown and release juices. Fruit pizza will meltdown if made in advance.
It really takes very little time to make this pizza. I highly recommend you make it fresh and serve immediately.

Leave the cheesecake frosting and slather melon slices with melted chocolate and add sprinkled on top. Kids love it.
Add savory touch to watermelon pizza by adding crumbled goat cheese, crumbled bacon, drizzle of balsamic vinegar and chopped fresh mint to it.
Cut thick watermelon slices into pie shapes. Brush oil on watermelon slices, grill for 3 to 4 minutes each side.
Remove from grill and add any toppings.
Pickled onions, feta cheese, chopped walnuts and rocket salad leaves with drizzle of balsamic vinegar is so delicious!
