Ingredients You’ll Need-
- 21 ounces (1 can) cherry pie filling
- 8 ounces cool whip (or use whipping cream topping)
- 14 ounces (1 can) condensed milk
- 20 ounces crushed pineapple
- 1 cup walnuts or pecans
- 2 cups marshmallows
Ingredients Additions & Substitutions
- Add shredded unsweetened coconut if you like for extra richness and texture.
- Mandarin orange segments can be added to the salad.
- Frozen grapes and frozen strawberries can be added too.
- Use pecans or walnuts!
How to Make Cherry Fluff Marshmallow Salad?
We are using canned fruits to make it quick and easy. The only prep work that you need to do is open all the cans and dump it in a bowl and fold.
Note: If using cool whip, remember to thaw frozen cool whip before use.
TIP: I drained crushed pineapple and reserved the liquids. Use the liquid to adjust the consistency of cherry fluff.
- Grab a large bowl and add cherry pie filling, cool whip, crushed pineapple.
- Chuck in condensed milk, chopped nuts, and mini marshmallows too.
- Fold it together. NOTE: If the consistency of cherry salad is too thick, add some of the liquids reserved from crushed pineapple. Too much liquid will thin down whipped topping. Pro-Tip: use fresh fruits that do not contain lot of liquid (or drain most of the liquids first before adding). It will break down whipped topping.
- Cover cherry salad and refrigerate at least for 2 hours. Always serve cherry fluff chilled.
Variations You Can Make To Cherry Fluff Marshmallow Salad
- Nuts – add wonderful crunch texture to the dessert salad. Use chopped pecans or chopped walnuts.
- Fruits – you can replace pineapple with mandarin orange segments or add it along with pineapple for extra tang taste.
- Use frozen grapes or frozen strawberries in the salad if you like extra fruits in your dessert salad.
- Add shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened) to enhance taste.
- Cool whip can be substituted with whipped cream topping in cherry fluff recipe.
- If marshmallows aren’t your thing, simply skip it.
