Homemade honey mustard sauce is a sweet, tangy, creamy sauce that takes only a few minutes to whip up with minimal ingredients. It’s the perfect dipping sauce for fries, fried chicken, and vegetables, or used as a salad dressing!

Honey mustard dipping sauce

  1. You can whip up creamy, slightly sour, tangy, full of flavors honey mustard dipping sauce at home with minimal ingredients. Homemade sauce is so fresh and delicious, that you will never buy store-bought again!
  2. The recipe is SUPER SIMPLE to make. It only takes 2 minutes to make your own sauce.
  3. It’s so good, I dip EVERYTHING in it!
  4. It is a very versatile sauce. You can add in any flavors of your choice.
  5. The sauce pairs with anything and everything, from fries to crispy chicken, from vegetables to use as salad dressing.

Ingredients needed

  • â…“ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • â…› teaspoon garlic powder
  • â…› teaspoon paprika
  • â…› teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Ingredients additions & substitutions

Plain Greek yogurt can be used instead of mayonnaise for low-fat sauce. You can also use half and half. Using half and half results in a thin sauce that is great as a salad dressing.

Double up the Dijon mustard amount instead of the mix of two mustard – Dijon and yellow mustard.

White vinegar can be used instead of apple cider vinegar.

You can also use fresh lemon juice instead of apple cider vinegar.

Use cayenne pepper in place for paprika.

How to make honey mustard sauce

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Whisk well.
  2. Taste and adjust the seasoning accordingly.
  3. For best results, refrigerate the sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving.

It’s best served as a dipping sauce with fries, crispy chicken tender, baked meatballs, roasted broccoli, or used as a salad dressing.

How to store the sauce

Homemade sauces and dressing keep well stored in the refrigerator. Store the sauce in a jar or any airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. It does not freeze well.
