You can make a batch and store in air tight containers for days.

Most often oyster crackers are served with oysters or oyster stew, it can also be a great addition to soups or can be tossed alongside a salad.

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make ranch oyster crackers-

all ingredients for ranch oyster crackers

Oyster crackers – oyster crackers are little round salty crackers which are also called as water crackers in some parts of the world.

Dry ranch seasoning – you can use homemade ranch seasoning mix if you have. I used store bought ranch seasoning.

Garlic powder – adds flavor.

Paprika – to give it slight savory kick or heat to crackers.

Herbs – dried parsley and dried dill weed are my favorite herbs for this snack.

Substitute oil with butter for rich taste.

For extra heat you can increase paprika or use a mix of cayenne pepper and paprika.

  • Seasoning salt
  • Creole seasoning
  • Taco seasoning
  • Adobo seasoning

FAQS

How long do they keep?

When stored in air tight container these crackers will keep for several days, at least 5 days. Make sure to cool completely before transferring to the container.

Can I substitute oyster crackers with saltines?

This recipe is built around oyster crackers only. I really hope you use oyster crackers for this recipe, but if you can’t get oyster crackers near you, use saltine crackers. Gently break them into smaller pieces and then mix with the seasoning, bake.

Oil or butter, which one is better?

I like to use oil, neutral oil to make ranch oyster crackers. You can also use butter for richer taste, melt butter first, allow to cool slightly and then toss with the seasoning. Remember butter will make crackers clump together when you toss.
