How to make Halloween marshmallow pops
Melt candy melts of your choice of colors that you want to use for Halloween treats. Pumpkin colors, green and purple color for Frankenstein monster or white candy melts for mummy pop are some of the ideas.
Since I’m using white chocolate (damn, we don’t get candy melts in my part of the world, not even on amazon), I melted white chocolate, divided into 4 equal parts.
Add food colors like green, purple, orange and leave one of the white to make colored dipping chocolate.
Place cake pop stick into each marshmallows separately. Keep aside.
Keep the melted candy melts in different bowls ready, along side sprinkles of your choice and eye candies by the side ready to get going. You need to work fast once you start dipping the marshmallows into candy melts. Candy melts will dry and harden fast, so you need to move quick to place the eye candies and sprinkles as soon as the marshmallow pops are dipped.
Take a marshmallow pop, dip in candy melt. Shake off excess candy melts on the marshmallows.
Then place the eye candies in it’s place.
Finally dip in sprinkles to create the hair or if using it for decoration purpose.
If using edible food gel color for creating eyes and mouth, do it with tooth pick with black paint or any other color.
Set aside marshmallow pops on a thermocol board(poking the cake pop stick into thermocol, so Halloween marshmallow pops stands up straight) to set and harden.
Repeat above step till all marshmallows are done and harden.
Tips to Remember for Halloween Marshmallow Treats
Jumbo marshmallows are great for handheld Halloween treats. Smaller sized marshmallows could be used too. Those tiny mini marshmallows is not ideal to use to make these treats.
Since green, purple, orange, black and white are most popular colors for Halloween treats, we used those colored candy melts. Feel free to use any color of candy melts of your choice. You could simply dip marshmallows in melted chocolate and sprinkle it away to your hearts content.
Have everything pulled to the table ready to get started to dip, decorate and sprinkle. Candy melts will harden pretty quickly you need to work real quick. From dipping, to creating hair to sticking eye candy – do it all quick, quick, quick!
Make use of deep bowls for candy melts so it’s easy to dip marshmallow pops and get the whole thing covered in one or two goes.
