How Can I Adapt Garlic Shrimp Pasta Recipe?

    1. I have tossed pasta here in the white creamy sauce. If you do not like pasta (WHAT?! FOR REAL?!) you can just make the shrimp in white creamy sauce and serve it with garlic bread. Dunk garlic bread in warm creamy white sauce – ooooo heaven!
    2. Serve it as side with rice. You heard me. With rice! It tastes good, trust me guys I have tried it.
    3. If you are not a seafood person, replace shrimp with chicken. Why not, right! Chicken in creamy white sauce does taste incredible! Yes I have tried it.

    Useful Tips:

    1. If you can roll out fresh pasta then nothing beats this dish, really! Use fresh homemade pasta if you can. I wish to own a pasta machine one day and try my hands on homemade pasta.
    2. I recommend using fresh shrimp again for this recipe. Nobody can deny that using fresh ingredients always gives better taste and flavor to the dish.
    3. Once pasta is mixed in the creamy white sauce, a touch of grated Parmesan never hurt anyone! I avoided it cause I wanted to keep it light and healthy!

    You like pasta?

Then try these out too –

So you know this dish is going to be your next favorite dinner! And you will go on repeat through week mode. It’s literally amazing and kids said, “this was the best dinner I made!”.

Cant deny that one there, cause garlic shrimp pasta is beyond awesome. And trust me you can totally do this pasta on a date night too. I tried with it, and me and hubby totally loved it with some Chardonnay. That’s the way pasta should be served and that’s what I call perfect date night. Simple yet perfect!

    • 1 lb shrimp (500 grams) (cleaned and de-veined)
    • ¾ lb pasta (fettuccini pasta)
    • 1 onion finely chopped
    • 3 tablespoon sun dried tomatoes (soaked in olive oil for few hours and chopped)
    • 2 cloves garlic minced
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • ¾ cup fresh cream

    Instructions

    • Cook pasta as per packet instructions. Cook pasta al dente. Do not overcook the noodles. I got 2 cups of cooked pasta.
    • Clean and de vein shrimp. Wash them clean in running water for 2 to 3 times. Add 1 teaspoon pepper powder and ½ teaspoon salt to the prawns. Mix well. Set aside.
    • Melt butter in a pan. Add olive oil to melted butter. And immediately minced garlic. Saute till raw smell of the garlic goes off.

    • Now add finely chopped onions and sauté till onions turn translucent. Add sun dried tomatoes and mix well. Add shrimp and cook for about 5 minutes or until prawns is just cooked.
    • Add pepper powder and salt to taste. Mix well. Add cream-cheese mix, and give it a good stir.
    • Add the cooked pasta, toss well. Add oregano, toss. Remove from flame and serve immediately.

Namaskaram JYOTHI – Kerala sends greetings to Bangalore :). Our eldest daughter telephoned a short while ago from Bangalore 🙂 requesting urgently a quick ‘upmarket’ pasta/prawns recipe – so I sent her yours today for a change because I want her to follow you as well. Incredible recipes – but your photography!!!!! oh my goodness – so very beautiful and most of all so elegant!!! Where did you learn this? Each photo in your portfolio is worthy of a printed version. In the UK people would buy this as greetings-/gift-cards. and yes, I am following you now. Carina
