Cool refreshing blueberry lemonade is what you need to beat the summer heat. This refreshing berrlicious lemonade is a wonderful twist to classic lemonade.
1cupsugarcontrol the amount of sugar accordingly, or use your favorite healthy alternative like stevia

Instructions
Any lemonade recipe begins with simple syrup. Simple syrup is equal mixture of sugar and water heated up until sugar dissolves creating a syrup.
For this drink, you’ll make blueberry simple syrup. In a sauce pan heat equal ratio of water and sugar. Add in fresh blueberries. Cook for 3-4 minutes. Keep mashing the berries as it cooks.
You’ll end up with syrup-y mix. Strain the syrup, squeezing out all the juices from the berries. Viola pretty pink blueberry simple syrup is ready.
Pop it into fridge until it’s chilled.
Into a pitcher add chilled blueberry simple syrup. Pour in freshly squeezed lemon juice. Throw in loads of ice.
Stir it up.
Pour into serving glasses filled with ice cubes, few fresh blueberries and lemon slices.
Serve immediately. Enjoy the drink sitting by the pool side!

Chill blueberry simple syrup for couple of hours. You can make it overnight and refrigerate it until chilled.
Cooking blueberries briefly is crucial, it extracts the flavor and color off the berries. Though some directly puree the blueberries and add it to the lemonade, I prefer cooking it for few minutes. It does make a difference in taste and color of the drink.
Keep those serving glasses in freezer. You’ll get to enjoy this drink little extra frosty.
For added flavors, muddle up fresh mint leaves or fresh basil leaves and add it to the drink.
For adult-style lemonade, spike it up with some vodka or tequila. We all need some extra fun after all!
