📋How To Make Guacamole

Learn how to make guacamole at home that is quick, easy to make and tastes so fresh and better than anything found in jar! You’ll never restore back to store bought dip. All you need is 10 minutes and fresh high quality ingredients to make the best homemade guacamole.

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ¼ onion finely chopped I used more than ¼ onion, for the crunch that I love
  • 1 jalapeno chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 4 teaspoon lime juice extra 1 to 2 teaspoon if you like tangier guac
  • cup fresh cilantro
  • ½ ripe tomato finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt


  • Prep ingredients – I love to add red ripe tomatoes and red onions into my guacamole. Chopping all ingredients before you start with avocados helps. Peel and chop garlic or mince in garlic press. Peel and dice red onions. Cut tomatoes into half, scoop out the seeds and chop fine. Dice jalapenos. If you like it spicy, leave seeds on. Finely chop fresh cilantro leaves.
  • Mash avocados – Cut perfectly ripe avocados into half length wise and remove the pit. Using a spoon scoop out the flesh and add it to a large mixing bowl. Using a fork or spoon mash avocados until it reaches your desired consistency. I like to add lime juice and season avocados sufficiently with salt before mashing. You can always add these after mashing avo.
    Pro-Tip : Try not to over mash or puree avocados. It needs to have some texture to it. If you puree or over mash it’ll loose the beautiful texture.
  • Perfect lime-avocado ratio – It’s important to get the ratio of lime juice per avocado so you have well balanced guacamole. About 2 teaspoon of lime juice per avocado works best. You can always add a little extra if like little more zing in your guac.
  • Sufficient seasoning – Use a generous pinch of sea salt to season avocado. Guacamole that is not seasoned sufficiently isn’t your best tasting guac! So ensure to add enough salt.
  • Mix all ingredients – Once avocado is mashes to your desired consistency with lime juice and salt, mix in all other ingredients. Red onions, minced garlic, ripe tomatoes, chopped jalapenos, fresh cilantro add all and mix gently until combined.
  • Taste & season – At last do a taste test. If your guacamole isn’t seasoned sufficiently add extra salt or little more lime juice. If you want to make it spicier, you can add an extra jalapenos as per your taste. Increase red onions if you like the crunch in it. Add more cilantro for herbier taste.
  • Serve immediately – serve immediately with nachos or chips.
    It’s BEST to serve guacamole soon as it’s made.

  • Pick right avocados that still has it's stem and is ripe but still firm. If you press on one it should yield.
  • Do not over mash or puree avocados. It'll loose it's beautiful texture.
  • Definitely use fresh lime over bottled stuffs. Squeeze it fresh over avocado.
  • If you don't like raw garlic flavor, skip it. Adding ripe tomatoes is optional too.
  • For extra spicy, add one more jalapenos with seeds on.
