Ingredients

  • 1.5 quarts water tap or bottled water
  • 1 orange sliced
  • ½ lemon sliced
  • 6 strawberries sliced
  • ½ English cucumber sliced length wise
  • Hand full mint leaves
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Rinse the fruits and vegetables.
  • Slice lemon and oranges thin. Dice strawberries. Slice cucumber lengthwise, into thin strips. Tear mint leaves for it to infuse faster and for stronger flavor.
  • Add in all the sliced/diced fruits, vegetables and herbs to a pitcher.
  • Fill a pitcher with water. You can use tap water, bottled water or sparkling water.
Jo’s Tip: A good thumb rule is to infuse for 2 hours at room temperature or for 3-4 hours in the fridge to achieve the potent flavor of the water. If you want stronger fruity and tangy flavors, it’s best to infuse it overnight in the fridge.
  • Serve chilled with additional fruit slices and ice.
  • Drink it throughout the day.
  • It’s best to drink and finish this detox water the day you make within 12 hours at room temperature.
  • Keep the pitcher in fridge if you want to stretch for more than 12 hours. Make sure to consume within 24 hours.
NOTE: Do not keep it longer than that, fruits can begin to go bad.

Notes

  1. Thumb rule is to keep infused water for 2 hours at room temperature before drinking. And in fridge for 3-4 hours. It’s best served chilled.
  2. If you want to serve immediately serve it with loads of ice.
  3. If you want stronger fruity and tangy flavors, it’s best to infuse it overnight in the fridge.
  4. You can eat the fruit after you’re done drinking your infused water or mash and use it to make smoothie.
  5. Use any combination of fruits to make your own flavored vitamin water.
