This versatile homemade Cajun seasoning is so much better than any commercial Cajun seasoning. The homemade version has a nice kick and a perfect blend of savory zesty flavors.
Simply mix all the spices together and store in clean dry air tight container.
Cajun seasoning can be stored in a cool dry place for up to 6 months.
Notes
Paprika – both sweet and smoked paprika will work.Sea salt – add salt to taste. Sea salt is best. Adding salt to the seasoning mix is optional. Not adding salt to the mix gives you the freedom to add salt to the dish according to taste and allows you to use as much of Cajun seasoning you want without the fear of over-salting the dish.Ground pepper – I used a mix of both white pepper and black pepper. White pepper has a flavor of its own and makes it taste better. If you don’t have white pepper, use just black pepper.Chili powder or cayenne pepper – dial the heat according to your choice by adjusting the amount. I used mild chili powder so it won’t make the dish too spicy. You can customize accordingly. Nutritional Info – Please keep in mind that nutritional information provided is only a rough estimate and can vary greatly based on the products used.
