This year, India is celebrating 68th year of Independence.
I’m very blessed and happy to be born in a free country. I immensely love my country and I’m extremely proud to be AN INDIAN.
Celebrating Independence day was usually accompanied with flag hosting ceremony in my residential community and a deep heart felt thanking prayers to thank all who fought for our freedom
So today’s recipe to celebrate our 68th Indian Independence is tricolor peda. 🙂 HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL INDIAN and let’s be thankful to what we have than to crib over what we lack(at least for today)
How to make tri color pedas
Recipe adapted from here.
1 cup milk powder
1/2 can condensed milk
1/2 stick butter
Food grade color(orange and green) – optional
Method of Preparation:-
In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter.
To melted butter add the milk powder and condensed milk and using a wire whisk mix well.
Place the bowl in microwave for 3 minutes. Mix well after every minute(this is important to get smooth texture in pedas).
After 1 min
After 2 mins
After 3 mins
Remove from the microwave and leave it to cool a bit. Once it’s cooled enough to handle, divide the dough into 3 parts.
Add few drops of orange food color to 1 part, and few drops of green food color to 2nd part. No need to add any food color to the 3rd part.
Using a spoon, mix very well until the food color is totally incorporated with peda dough.
Roll them into round peda shape or any other shape.
Enjoy these TRICOLOR PEDA with PATRIOTISM. 😀 JAI HIND!
You can avoid using food colors and make plain white pedas.
I have not added cardamom powder to the recipe, you can add about 1 tspn of cardamom powder.
